Family Planning

All GP's at the practice are able to give contraceptive advice. Additionally Dr Claydon will fit coils. Dr Claydon fits and removes all contraceptive implants (arms) in the minor surgery clinics.

Minor Surgery

Dr Claydon holds a minor surgery clinic once a month. These are for removal of benign moles, skin tags, cysts,  joint injections and aspirations, and for contraceptive implants and removals in the arm. To access this service, you must first be assessed by one of the GPs as being potentially suitable for minor surgery at the practice. If so, you will be placed on the list for minor surgery at the next available session and an appointment sent to you. However, Dr Claydon, as the surgeon, retains the final decision whether you can be safely operated on at the practice. Dr Claydon will also conduct joint injections in a regular clinic but you must book an extended appointment for this purpose - again you must be assessed by one of the GPs as needing this service.

Travel Health  syringe

You may be aware that for a number of years the practice has provided advice on health precautions and vaccinations required for travelling abroad. A considerable amount of GP time is required to do this, especially when itineraries are complex. We have taken the decision to stop offering this service to allow GPs to continue providing other aspects of health care.

We recommend you look at:

www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk   Using this site you can found out the health risks and precautions you can take of each country you might be visiting. If you don’t have your own record of immunisations you have had we can supply you a print out of what has been recorded on your GP record, but please be aware that this might not include vaccines you have had in a previous practice. If you need further advice or immunisations please consult a specialist (private) travel health clinic. The nearest one we have been able to locate is
